The Newport Independent Board of Education is seeking an outstanding educator with the leadership skills capable of extending the momentum of improvement in Newport Schools. The successful candidate should have a reputation as an innovative, approachable, ethical, and enthusiastic leader who is actively involved and visible throughout the district and community. Candidates should possess a background of enhancing student achievement, successful financial management, administrative experience, and the ability to relate to all constituencies in a diverse community.
The Newport Independent schools are in the heart of the Greater Cincinnati Metropolitan region. The 14,000 resident city is home to renowned attractions such as the Newport Aquarium and Newport on the Levee, which attracts approximately four million visitors to the community each year. It is also home to a historic downtown filled with eclectic businesses and the East Row neighborhood, one of Kentucky’s largest historic districts featuring Victorian-style architecture and unique shops.

Kentucky Superintendent certification is required. A competitive salary will be offered for a July 1, 2026, contract start.
