Hello, Newport Families!
Our 21st Century After-School Program begins on Tuesday, September 2nd. If you are interested in signing your student up for club, please reach out to your Site Coordinator(s) to get registration forms. Once you have returned your form to the correct school, you will receive a call from the Coordinator to confirm your students spot in the program.
Our program at NIS is from 2:45-5:00pm. All students start in the cafeteria and receive an after-school snack. After snack, students participate in WIN (What I Need) time, which is academic based, focusing on skills and lessons that students need additional support on. After WIN Time, students participate in a variety of enrichment activities such as Cooking Club, Athletic Adventures, Coding, Building Club, Outdoor Adventure Club, and more! Dismissal is at 5pm.
Please remember that attendance is very important for both our students and our program. Students must attend at least 3 days of programming each week. If your student is unable to attend club, you must let the front office, or the Site Coordinator know by 12pm that they are not attending club.
Reach out to your Site Coordinator(s) if you have any questions!

🎓 This summer, some of our rising 6th graders took part in a hands-on college experience at NKU—thanks to a partnership with EducateNKY!
Students explored programs like Pre-Med, Engineering, Journalism, and more through fun, interactive activities. They toured dorms, visited the planetarium, and met students from neighboring districts—all for free thanks to NKU and EducateNKY.
We’re excited this pilot program will return next summer and grow even bigger!

Mark your calendars! Open House at Newport Intermediate is scheduled for August 7th from 5-7pm. We will have the building open so you can see your classrooms, visit teachers, and get excited about the start of a new year!

It was exciting to see some familiar faces and new ones at the Popsicles with the Principals event hosted by our FRC Coordinator, Ms. Blackwell, this afternoon.
We played games, ate popsicles, and then Mr. Grigson and Dr. Watkins even got pied in the face!
If you missed this fun event, don't worry there are always more opportunities to come to the school for an engaging event!
We can't wait to see everyone on August 7th from 5-7 for open house then then August 8th for Home Visit Day!

Good Morning NIS Families!
Next week we will be hosting a FREE meet and greet event with the principals of Newport Intermediate. Come down to the school from 3-4pm on July 17th to enjoy fun games and sweet treats with Dr. Watkins and Mr. Grigson!
